strobe period

Hi,
I know that strobe period parameter in transient simulations is very useful and popular in data converter transient simulations.
Does strobe period increases the speed of the simulator by saving limited time points ?

Hi,

It can go either-ways as it just depends on how coarse/fine your strobe period is ( something like simulation points in one clock cycle)

It's unlikely to make much difference to the speed of the simulation
unless it is spending a significant amount of time writing to disk
(which is usually not the limiting factor). If you set it very fine such
that it's taking more points than it would have done otherwise, it can
slow the simulation down.

Note that strobeperiod doesn't cause it to omit timesteps - the
simulator will still take whatever timesteps it needs to follow the
signals accurately, and will also ensure that it solves at the strobe
period points themselves (so they are solved, not interpolated).

it reduced simulation time drastically, when i used strobeperiod.
