Strange HP 3488A card

Hello to everybody!

I recently got a working HP 3488A Switch Control Unit where, much to
my surprise, I found a couple of "4800 General Purpose I/O" cards,
made by Honeywell, which are completely unknown to me. Anyone has a
clue of what these cards are for? There's a "weight and balance
section" engraved on the PCB, which lets me think that it's something
used to select load cells in a weight and balance system. The output
section features four DG508AAK Analog Multiplexers and four VQ1001J
MosFET arrays. Not able to find anything anywhere on the Net.

Richard,

That's exactly what I thought, word by word. The fact that I'm an
airplane pilot, at last, accounted for something. :) Yet, I'm still
at the starting line as to determine what exactly these cards are for.
Hints? Searching on the Net didn't produce anything meaningful.

"Weight and Balance" normally refers to aviation, where it's critical to
measure the weight and center of gravity of an aircraft. Given that they're
in a 3488A, my guess is that you've got part of a flight test system there.
