Stereo To Mono Converter Cable

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this sort of question, but
here goes. I have a Vectronics AM transmitter I built from a kit, and
I need to make a stereo to mono converter cable, I've read about using
resistors or something, I need more detailed information, maybe a
diagram. Appreciate if anyone can help.

The general idea is that you want to sum together the Left and Right
channels. This can indeed be done with resistors, but the exact
values may depend upon the particulars of your circuits. The simplest
method is to drive the mono input through a resistor from each stereo
channel. 10k ohms is a good value to start with for each, and you
probably don't want to go lower than 1k (unless the stereo source
is intended for phones or speakers). This may be all you need, or
you may need a third resistor across the mono input if there is
isn't one internally before the input coupling capacitor. Try 10k
for that too.

If you want to adjust the relative Left/Right balance, you can
replace the two stereo-line resistors with a potentiometer,
again try a 10k pot. Connect the wiper (center terminal) to
the mono input, and the other two terminals to the stereo lines.
