Speaking to other planets on Ham Radio

I'd like to get into ham radio, so I can speak with creatures from other
planets. How likely is this and what planets are most easily contacted?

Get a high gain directional antenna and start with Mars, then see how you
go from there. Report back here from time to time with the entries from
your call log.

You don't need radio. There are several people from other planets on sed.

I think you'd be better served improving mental telepathy.
Remote viewing may be of help.

Seriously, has anyone here ever experienced what one could consider a
supernatural event. I knew an energy healer, years ago, that got some
terminal cases up and running again.

Cursitor Doom is not well-informed.

https://www.seti.org/about-us/mission

has been trying to contact - or at least detect - extraterrestrial intelligence since 1984.

There's a question about whether what we've been sending out would identify us as intelligent life - Cursitor Doom's contributions wouldn't.

Study their language first, you can't communicate unless you speak
their language.

That has been thought about.

H. Beam Piper's "Omnilingual"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omnilingual

is a rather neat science fiction story from 1957. It's a bit before SETI, so it's posed as alien archeology.

Good luck with that. You'd have a much better chance of winning a large
numbered lottery (like superpowerball) than making contact... and
winning that lottery several times over!

One time a scientist with the last name of Drake came up with an
equation, called the Drake equation, that would predict other life in
our galaxy by plugging in a bunch of variables such as technological
status (electricity or not, computers or not, etc etc), language,
environment (do they even breathe air, some creatures on this planet do
quite well communicating under water and may not even be aware of our
existence!), distance from us (VERY remote chance of any life like us
within 100 light years), etc... other variables. In essence, the
equation predicted the possibility of one or two other civilizations in
our galaxy at our current state of technology. What that means is that,
anywhere within 100,000 light years of us, there might be one or two
other civilizations communicating using radio waves, breathing air,
etc... in other words, like us. Since the chance that that civilization
is located close by is remote, even if they do exist, you probably
wouldn't find out for many thousands of years.

Jabbut... you know a case is terminal only after it terminated.

Then you have to bring it back tro live....

How??????????

You really don't need a radio...but if you insist....AM tuned to ~1500 KC (for martians, 1330 for plutonians) + 1 dose of LSD should get ya there. (At least according to Timothy Leary)
Good luck and happy travels.

There's no rush, it's likely there'll be no life on mars until 2035 or
so.
Probably already several kinds of bacteria/viruses have been imported
on Mars.
Spacecrafts are sterilized a bit, but I think that is not 100 percent
effective.
Also debris from asteroid collisions travel between planets, pieces of Mars
have been found at Antarctica, so the reverse should also be possible.

Two planets in the same solar system might not be totally isolated from
each other, especially the smaller planets/satellites.

Nah - wouldn't hurt a fly....

When I tried casting out nines I made a hash of it.

Alpha centauri is about 4 light years away, so you have to wait a bit
for your answers. Mars is only 13 light minutes away.

I believe the planet Zog has a thriving communications group.
