** Hi,
got one of these old boat anchors in the workshop - six EL34s and two over
sized transformers.
The "R" version has a reverb tank mounted vertically, at the front of the
chassis - but it is not an Accutronics, or any recognisable Asian make.
What did Sound City use ?
Was there a maker of reverb tanks in the UK back in the early 70s?
VOX amps had something really horrible back in the 60s, but this one is a
copy of the Accutronics design with tiny, rotating magnets and a low
impedance input needing a drive transformer.
I expect a 17 inch Accutronics, with 8 ohm and 2000 ohms coils, will be drop
in replacement.
BTW:
Both springs are missing as are 3 of the 4 magnets.
