Ive got a Sony SLV-SE700 VCR, approx 1-2 years old, which refuses to
play, rewind or fastforward for more than 2 seconds, displays error
code 30109.
Cant see anything wrong with it visually. It's hardly been used from
new due to DVD. The problem occured after rewinding a tape to the
start.
This VCR replaced two previous topend Sony Nicam VCRs, both of which
suffered from intermittent problems, Sony were good enough to give me
a goodwill payment towards this current VCR.
Ideally I'd purchase another Sony VCR to match my Wega, but am a bit
reluctant after previous problems, and Id hoped that the current VCR
would be the last one I purchased. What VCR can be recommended that
will last longer than a year or two? or have I just had bad luck with
Sony?
Incidentally if anyone could let me know what the problem might be
with the current video it would be much appreciated.
