Hi Folks,

I have a 29" Sony TV that is approx six years old and has been faultless
until the last month. Horizontal black lines appeared on the screen approx
1/3 of the way up the screen and came and went over the course of the last
several weeks. Last Friday, whilst in operation, the screen displayed a
green vertical band of colour and then switched itself off. Now when you
attempt to switch it back on you get two seconds of audio, the screen
appears to start charging up and then it switches off back into stand by
mode. I have a friend looking at it for me but we can't locate any circuit
diagrams. Any input greatly appreciated.

Too late for that simple of a repair. The caps have already damaged the
vertical output stage.
