Sony TV Audio Problem

Folks,

I have a 6 years old Sony KVJ25MN21, and started experiencing audio problems
with it.
It started last week when the TV is turned on, the video is fine but do not
have audio . However if I ON/OFF the TV several times, sometimes I got the
audio back. Could anyone points what the problem might be? How difficult
might
this be to fix? I am trying to order the repair manual for this model.
Does anyone have any experience with repairing using the manual?
Any and all help appreciated.

The problem you described could be caused by a variety of faults like dry
solder connections, intermittent components, failing electrolytics, and of
course the SBX Mpx decoder module.
This is not a repair project for the inexperienced novice, NOR will the
repair manual provide step by step troubleshooting and repair procedures, it
will only be most helpful to the competent technician with the necessary
knowledge, experience, test equipment and tools.
Take it to repair shop for a proper and safe repair, or at the very least, a
repair cost estimate so you can make an intelligent repair decision with
facts instead of internet guesses.
