can anyone help me on this please?

its a sony trinitron
model KV-A2112U

works perfectly well until it gets hot, and this for example speeds up when the radiator behind tv is turned on.

so i can only surmise it is a single component that is breaking down under the additional heat.

when the tv cools down agian it is fine. still works when hot just loses all colour making it a b/w tv

any help would be greatly appreciated

There is a product available for troubleshooting thermo problems, called
Freeze Mist. There are a few others along this line.

Open the rear cover, and heat the set up. You can use a heat gun, or blow
dryer to heat the suspected areas. Now cool the suspected parts one at a
time, until you hit the defective ones. Start in the colour demodulator
section.

By the way, having a radiator near to a TV set is not very good for it. TV
sets should be used in an area where they can get good cool air circulation.
Heat destroys especially the capacitors.

On this range of sets it's very common for dry joints in the IF can or on
the screening can of the video processing board to cause this symptom.

If you don't have electronics service experience, then from a safety point
of view you should take it to a qualified technician.

i do have a little but was hoping for a service manual maybe
