Sony problem

I have a Sony KV-27V42 with an interference pattern in the upper left
quadrant of the screen. It comes and goes, sometimes determined by the
brightness of the picture content. The pattern resembles a 60 hertz or
distant channel interference but is present even when using the AV
inputs. It is not affected by the level or frequency of the audio. My
suspicion is that it's a bad capacitor but my fear is that it
something more ominous. Does anybody out there have any ideas on this?
Thanks for any response------Bill

i had a similar problem vacuumed inside dust that accummulated for 10 years
and it was gone
