Hi,

my Sony MD-Player MZ-E32 only displays the correct the track
informationsof the music tracks, stepping forward and back is o.k.,
time display is ok. The beep can be heared in the headphones (so they
are o.k., checked on another devise too), but there is no sound from
the music tracks.

Has anyone an idea?

thx

Simple things first.

Make sure the headphone/audio output connections are clean and thorough.
Sometimes, a plug can be dislodged from its jack for whatever reason. Other
times, the plug and jack may have an intermittent connection due to dirt.

Second, check the volume control. Don't mean to be condescending, but I'm just
trying to nail as many simple points as possible. On Sony portables, the
beeping noise can be heard clear and loud over the headphones, even if the
volume is set to 0.

Third, check to see if the AVLS (Automatic Volume Limiting System) is off. If
it's on, turn it off.

Fourth, try a fresh set of batteries.

Fifth, try a different disc. - Reinhart

Hi Reinhart,

headphones, connection and the connection of the cable remote control
are ok, i can do volume setting, but no audio sound, the LCD Display
of the remote control displays the volume bar

you're right, the beep is independent of the volume setting, the
Display shows the time and name of the tracks, so i think the laser is
ok

oh, i think it has no APLS, i changend battery and disc, no success. I
searched for broken solders (dont know the exact words), not found.
