Sony KV-35V36 Dead?

I have a Sony Kv-35v36 that while watching it it changed inputs from
Cable to Video by itself. Used remote to change input back to cable was fine
for a while then went dead. No relay noice or High voltage sound when I try
to turn it on with remote or switch. How were the solder joints on this
Model? I have read certain Models have had problem.

From the description of the symptom before it went dead, it really sounds
like someone sprayed glass cleaner on the front of the tube and it dripped
down into the buttons. Once a button is shorted, the tv will not turn on.

As to solder connection problems, the horizontal output and driver need
checked. If the HOT shorted you can be guaranteed the SMPS needs repaired.

Good point but the buttons on this set are on the top. She usually just dust
it off. I will check your other suggestions latter this week.
