Sony kv-27v42 chassis:BA-4D i think the lightening got her

had a power strike/surge a few nights back. now when i turn my tv on,
just get a flashing picture, with 3 colored lines running left to
right flashing. when i turn the set back off, i get 5 standby flashes
over and over again. and thoughts where to start looking? the sound
does work i get about half a second of sound as the picture is
flashing. any and all help would be appreciated.

This sounds very non standard for a fault. When a set has a large surge, or
damage from lightning, anything is possible. I would suggest taking the set
over to a Sony service centre to have it looked at, and give you an
estimate.
