I looking for your help again since I still could not fix this problem.

The HOT was shorted and the fuse F1601 opened. I replaced them; I also
replaced C578 and Q501 by the equivalent. I
measure voltage below the nominal on TP97 (90V instead of 135) and on TP95D
(7V instead of 9V).

The TV set turned on, the audio output is OK but it have no video; however,
a waving OSD appears on a black screen. The same when using the external
video input.

I checked for mutiple solder connection faults at the flyback and driver
transformers: everything looks fine.

Thanks in advance for any help.

HOT shorted, Bad regulator, also a very old set and I would bet your main
filter capacitor is bad, very common on that vintage Sony set. If it has
the 560uf one, it needs it, a 470uf is not good enough and most 680uf will
not fit.
