Sony GDM-5011P Monitor Question

Hi All:

I've been given a Sony GDM-5011P monitor. It is inop. With the signal cable
correctly connected to a running computer and the power switch turned on,
the power LED will turn green for a few seconds. Then it changes to amber
and cycles on / off about every second. Screen stays black. There is a
familiar busz z when the power is first applied ( degauss coil? ). To me,
it seems like there is no signal going in through the cable. I tried a
second, known good cable. Same deal. I opened the hood & looked for
obvious disconnects, ect without luck.

Any thoughts on what might be wrong with this monitor?

Any advice appreciated.

Unless you are trained in monitor servicing, have the service manuals and
necessary tools, this will be difficult for you to service yourself, unless
it is a simple fault. The problem can be in the power supply, scan
circuits, and or the high voltage section.
