Sony DV Problem

I have a Sony DCR PC-101 Digital Video Cam. The camera has just returned
from service to repair a 31:23 error message problem. The camera still
won't play any of my previously recorded tapes (same 31:23 error
message) but it seems to work o.k. with a new tape.

What's the deal?

The tracking alignment is different. It is possible that the alignment was
off when you recorded the previous tapes, and the factory service put it
back on track. Now the old tapes will not play.

You can bring back the camera with your old tapes, and ask them to align the
unit to track them. But, you will no longer be in standard.
