Just wondering whether it is okay to use different brand soldering iron tip
eg Weller on another soldering iron, eg Duratech?

well, you may have a longer heat up time.
but if it fits, it shouldn't be a problem.

It's as simple as one piece of steel touching another. The only reason the
tips are separate is so you can replace them, or use different shapes.
