I've noticed that the Save View/Restore View command will store where you were
in a window, but it won't restore where you were in the hierarchy (through
Edit-In-Place) when you saved that view. Is there a quick command to
save/restore where you are in the hierarchy when you are editing-in-place?

Have been thinking of how to implement a bookmark function (with dialog) to
be able to store important locations in a design. For large custom designs
this would remove the hassle of moving up and down just go get from A to B.
(Specially important as VADE starts garbling when more instances of
schematics try to connect to it inside the same session.)

Watch this space - bookmarks are coming soon...

I took a "vacation" today to revel in the software by going thru the
IC6.1 front-end and back-end training classes, both using the Cadence
Parrot Ethernet Phy in OpenAccess 2.2 on a Linux laptop. The bookmark
feature Andrew spoke of above (which is among very many new
productivity-enhancement capabilities in Virtuoso 6.1) is indeed nicely
done. Just the way you'd want it.

Not only is a single-click history of the most recently opened
cellviews easily and automatically available on the IC61 CIW "File"
menu, but also quickly saving, managing, and opening saved bookmarks &
tabs is now as simple as it is with your favorite web browser!

Stay tuned!
