Hi to all,
This is anil mannava ,i am a custom layout designer. i recently joined this group. i want to learn skill and refered cadence documents but havenot been able to understand. can anyone suggest what do i need to know before looking in to skill.

Have you read the SKILL Language User Guide in cdnshelp (or
<ICinstDir>/doc/sklanguser/sklanguser.pdf) - that's a good place to start.

Alternatively Cadence offers SKILL Language training classes - that's a
good place to start too.

Hi Anil,

Just like any other programming language you can learn SKILL easily, just find small problems/task and implement them in SKILL.
A few to start with can be a. Automate layout patterns b. Write skill forms/menus c. or even try to write skill code to dump design information.
