All,
I have extensive quantity of skill which works great in Cadence 5.X
My question is does Cadence 6.X still support skill ?
Has anyone made the transition? Were there issues ?
Are there any DB campatibaly issues ?
Thanx.. Colin

Hi Colin,

I'm not the best person to answer your questions since my experience
working on CDBA -> OA migration was a little bit short.
I can however say Yes, Yes, Yes and Yes for your 4 questions :) The
migration is not really smooth and straight forward. Cadence does
provide some automation tools to help you in this task however. You
might look at the cdb2oa doc for an example. You might be interested
in this link as well !

I recall having seen many articles about the cdb to OA migration in
the cdnusers archives. But I can't find them anymore since Cadence
changed its web site architecture. I'm not yet used to the new
structure :-(

Besides, there should be few threads about this question in this forum
already, just Google it !

Hope this helps !
Regards,
Riad.

For the most part, SKILL in IC5141 will work in IC61X too. There are some
changes here and there, mostly to cope with new objects introduced in OpenAccess.

There's a migration guide in the IC61 documentation; you should read that.

The database migration itself is relatively straightforward though.

Andrew.
