Size of new instances in Schematic Composer

Hi,

I have a very annoying problem when I attach the technology file from
my fab to
a new library and then want to create a new schematic. Everything is
very big
all of a sudden. When adding an nmos for example I have to zoom out
several
times in order to see it. Labels have to be at least size 3 so that I
can see them
and I have to change the complete grid settings. When I use the tech
file from
cadence (cdsDefTechLib) I don't have these problems and everything
looks nice.
Can I somehow override the symbol size for the schematics defined in
the tech file ?

I am using the design Kit from Europractice for the AMIS0.5u
technology.
