Simulation Pause in AMSD

Dear All,

Is it possible in AMS Designer to stop simulation , then change
reltol, vabstol and other tolerance values and then restart the
simulation?

I prefer to use irun based OSS netlister and executables and from
command line.
I have the following versions in my Cadence Setup.

ICFB : 5.10.41.500.6.141
Spectre Version: 7.2.0.194.isr4
NCSIM version: 08.20-s022:

And also please suggest how to integrate Matlab/Simulank command
thorugh irun (if possible).

Thanks in advance.

Thanks and Regards !!!!

Cheers !!!

Debjit.

Hi Debjit,

Yes this is possible if your run your AMS simulation in interactive
mode, i.e. using Simvision.
for more details, Please look at my comments in
http://www.designers-guide.org/Forum/YaBB.pl?num=1260862830

This is very handy in a PLL design for example. You may run the
simulation up until the lock time, change the tolerances and then run
the remaining sim.

Riad.

Hi Riad,

Thanks for the solution. Actually I have written a tcl fie to run all
the things in batch mode. But I was unable to change the method and
errpreset value during the interactive process. Is there any such
command or any such tcl commands available so that I can incorporate
them in the tcl files which will change the errpreset and the method
of integration? I tried with ncsim -an amsControlSpectre.scs but it
reported that the snapshots does not exist in the library. But I
checked by restart -show command and got the snapshots in worklib. Can
you enlight the problem please?

Thanks in advance.

Cheersss!!!

Thanks and Regards !!!

Debjit,

You better stick a help ticket to your Cadence AE as I don't the
answer for this question.
I'll try to spare a few moments to investigate later on ... This may
take sometime as I'm fairly busy these days.
Again, best is to get in touch with your Cadence AE.

Regards,
Riad.

Hi Debjit,

I did reply to your post at http://www.cadence.com/community/forums/T/15379.aspx

Note that I have been on vacation, and that has limited my ability to respond in
the forums. Note that responding to comp.cad.cadence, the Designer's Guide, and
the Community Forums on www.cadence.com are not part of my job - so I do so when
I have free time, and that is often rather limited because of my actual job!

Regards,

Andrew.

the suggestions you and Riad provide.

Thanks one second for your help.

Enjoy your vacation. And humbly beg your pardon for disturbing you
during your vacation.
