please help me
I use a TVS (voltage transients suppressor) for my 28v circuit protection
TVS to be 80v stand off , clamp at 137v, induced lightning will be 600v/24A
at 10us/1000us pulse (per RTCA/DO-160)
so inner impedance will be 600/24=25 ohm , is that right?
because I have to choose SMT TVS, which is 1500w max. the above application
TVS is already 137x24=3288 w, so I have to add a resistor 25 ohm carbon
composition in series between power supply and TVS, to lower the current to
9.26= (600-137)/ (25 +25) , TVS power will be 9.26x 137 =1300W <1500W.
my approach is correct? the 25ohm carbon SMT resitor can handle it?
please help me.
any inputs will be greatly appreciated
