Hi I need a simole control that will turn a circuit on and off a
certain number of times...

the easiest way I can explain this is with this example...

"If I had a digital watch and to get to the stop watch feature I would
have to push the mode button 3 times... I want to be able to push one
button to get to the stop watch feature.."

Although the device I want to do this with is not a watch the
components and are very similar. I am looking for a workaround way to
automate this process as simply as possible...

Anyone understand at all what I am babbling about ? :)
Is there an easy way to achieve this?

A VERY simple device is an old telephone's rotary :). In your case however I
would recommend an oscillator with a counter that will auto-reset and
switch the oscillator off after the desired (evtl. programmed) number of
pulses. Consider using a frequency divider if there are problems with
lo-freq oscillators.
