Hello,

I was trying to learn how SD/DS (I am not sure which is correct) ADCs
work. The advantages of 1st order vs higher order ones, and I was
hoping that someone here would point me in the right direction. I have
access to Simulink and MATLAB as well as Spice, but I don't have any
examples of how I can use them in a simple building block to see how
they fit together. Could someone give me directions as to where I can
find weblinks or papers that can help me on the building blocks of SD
ADCs (or even for that matter SD modulation etc?).

Thanks in advance,

Regards,
Sanjay

Look for Burr Brown DAC datasheets. They have some info on them.

but Delta Sigma DAC/ADC's are nothing more than integrators, i.e. an op-amp
with a capacitor in the feedback loop, controlled by a digital pulsetrain.
The numer of pulses charge the capacitor and increase the voltage output (in
the case of DS DAC's).
