I am having a hard time finding the part number of this bulb. I have
pulled the socket out but see no bulb number anywhere. Can someone
help me determine the proper bulb to order?

Thanks.

The bulb is a CLMPF0022DE08 but you'll probably have more luck searching by
the model of the projector.

From Tritronics, an Sharp distributor

CLMPF0022DE04 (SHARP) List Price: $263.44 EA not in stock, special order.

You may want to check out the ballast circuit if the Lamp fractured during
failure.

In the reply just before this, somebody else said the bulb was an
"CLMPF0022DE08" I don't want to make an expensive mistake. Who is
right on this one???

I gave you the distributor and the info that they show for this model. You
should check with Sharp (800-201-3447) or another Sharp authorized
distributor if you want to confirm this info. The DE08 is shown as the lamp
for the xv-370 without the p suffix. The "p" appears to be the canadian
version. Whether there is a diff in the lamps I do not know.

For the "exact" model XV-370P the lamp number is CLMPF0022DE04
For the XV-370 (no "P") it is CLMPF0022DE08 but is N/A use substitute.
For the non P model they spec the Lamp w/ cage part number BQC-XVP15U//1

I wish they'd settle on a few (maybe 10 or 15 realistically--possibly even
that's more than absolutely necessary) projector lamps and build the units
around them...but no, there are easily hundreds; a different lamp for every
projector.

Second-sourcing would go a long way toward bringing the price down to
realistic levels; but as long as consumers are willing to pay these prices,
it won't happen. It also contributes to obsolescence of the projectors
themselves. As newer models are introduced, eventually the manufacturers
will reduce parts support (including replacement lamps) for the older ones.

I've gotten several catalogs from a company called Interlight, claiming to
stock hard to find bulbs, even offering to buy New Old Stock bulbs. Worth a
try; their website is www.interlight.biz, phone# (800) 743-0005.
