Hello

I have SHARP Projector XV-DW100U, after 2 years of great work, blue LCD
panel gone.
Can anybody give me advice for good and reliable source of parts for Sharp
projectors?

Best regards,

Slavek

Sharp, Tritronics.

If you don't have much experience with these you might want to refer it to
someone who does. They can get tricky and expensive to repair. If you are
going to do it yourself be sure to check the filter for the blue panel.
They tend to get burned.

Keep in mind that a panel can run $500 or more, plus labor.

Still seems like it'd be worthwhile if it's a nice projector, but of course
you'd wanna make sure that the panel is indeed the problem before dumping
the cash into it.

Double that price on this model. And that is without much of a markup.

This was a very nice projector for it's time. I can tell you that labor will
bite you in the ass no matter where you go. Likely cause anyone you send it
too will just send it to Sharp. And if you don't decide to fix, you will
still pay an estimate fee. In the end, you could purchase another 1000 ansi
lumen projector for a little bit more than you would pay for repair. Sell it
on eBay AS IS and you will make a loot. I do recommend a NEC or Panasonic
projector. very nice and hold up very well. Let me know on what you intend
to do with this projector.

Thank you very much for an advice.
I tried to send email to Red but his server didn't accept my emails.
Talking about my projector, I decided to fix it, cost of LCD panel is just
below $1Kus and labor quoted by authorized service in Toronto is $140cnd, so
it is a lot of cash, but it is good projector and is worth it.
If somebody knows places where I can buy LCD panel for less I will be more
then happy.

Very odd that my server blocked it. I am not in Candada, so it wouldnt seem
feasble to send it to the States.

Good luck!!

Perhaps you could find another projector that has a different problem on
Ebay.
