my Sharp CD-BA250 is totally lock up with a "PROTECT " message on the
display.
I have tryed the reset procedure from the operation manual ,but it does not
clear.
Has anybody had this problem ? , what else can I do?

take it to a repair shop.

its a bad output transistor set.

If it does this with all the speakers disconnected, it means the audio
output stage is shorted and the unit needs repaired by a qualified
technician.

Any shorted speaker wire will also cause this, as well as blow the
outputs.
Playing the unit at loud volume also can blow the outputs.
