Anyone know the proper term for those "Shake and Bake" machines where you
put your electronics in and it vibrates and heat/cools it for limit
profiling?

Thanks

Ron,
When I worked at Northrop in the 80's, our test lab had what we called a
'shake and bake' machine. It was a vibration platform mounted inside a
temperature chamber. You would put in so many g's of vibration (depending
on the test profile), at different temperatures. Usually at temperature
extremes. It was part of acceptance and qualification testing for certain
types of guidance and control system prototypes that we built before
manufacturing. We jury rigged a chamber over a vibration platform to get
both temp and vibration at once. I don't know what the proper name for it
would be. Maybe rube goldberg shake and bake machine? (LOL). kluge, maybe?

Heating, cooling and humidity tests are done in an "environmental chamber".
Vibration testing is usually done separately.
