setting visible layers for each window separately

Hi all,

Is there a way one can view baselayers in one window, and all the metal
layers in another window, of the same cellview. This requires having each
window its own LSW.

Or, Splitting the layout window into two or four viewports and making a
set of layers visible for each viewport. When the view area of one view
port is changed the others would also follow.

Suresh,

Let say you have Lib1 which contain your cellview.
"Lib1" can either have a technology file compiled or have
an attached technology library.

One way to have different layer displays is to create another
library "Lib2" and copy the cellview in it. (you don't need to copy all
the hierarchy, only the topcell is sufficient).

You have to compile the techfile in "Lib2", and not make an
attachement to the technology library.
In this way, you can define different displays in the LSW
when openeing the cellview from "Lib1" and the copy
of the cellview from "Lib2".

The LSW is following the technology when clicking in the
Virtuoso window. It takes the current technology from
the click.

Concerning the view area followed in different windows, this
needs some Skill custom procedure. I never seen standard
command that do this.

The topic is very interesting, since with 6 or 8 layers metal,
it is very difficult to visually inspect a layout ...
