Service Menu for Teac CTF6890S television

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to get into the service menu for the Teac
CT-F6890S television? I would like to correct the overscan & geometry
of the picture.

I am amazed at the quality of the picture for the price - a 68cm unit
for $499. It has a comb filter which seems to be part of the reason
that the picture looks so good, and something I have never seen in a
TV of this price. No component input, but it does have S-Video. The
only downsides so far are the geometry & overscan issues (which I
figure I can fix), but also, this TV doesn't have a 16:9 mode. While
my DVD player can do the downconversion, the resultant picture has
less resolution than if it were done in the TV itself. Maybe I can
fix this by outputting the 16:9 signal from the DVD player and
squeezing the vertical size in the service menu. The only issue I
have then is how to watch the 4:3 discs I own. I will have to think
about that one...

Many thanks,

Robmash

Odds are you're not going to have someone in this group with the same TV,
let alone someone who knows how to access the service menu. You're better
off trying your luck on Google.

Tried this on my TV, the results weren't very good. To be honest, you don't
miss much "resolution" by using the letterboxed format that you'd notice on
a regular TV CRT. See if you can find a DVD player which has forced pan &
scan.

What about watching regular TV?

Believe me I have looked, and there is only ONE reference to the exact
model#, and that had no technical data. What I am hoping is that a
tech has a service manual for a similar model, or that someone will
know who makes the Teac TVs and I can find a service code for the same
chassis under a different brand name. You may have noticed that I
crossposted into aus.electronics for this very reason.

I would prefer 16:9 with bad resolution over pan-and-scan, but my dvd
player does support this.

I was hoping that these types of settings would be for a given input
only. Therefore, I would squeeze the Svideo input only.

Thanks,

It's not a PC monitor, so it probably has just one like mine. It doesn't
even have seperate geometry settings for NTSC/PAL frequencies.

I set my geometry to look the best for my Dreamcast.
