SED1335 Flickering

Hello, i finally could turn on the Powertip PG320240FRS-DE4-H-A1
320x240 Graphic Display! I'm using an Atmel ATmega8515.
But now there seems to be a misconfiguration, because the screen turns
on, but there are about 13-14 horizontal lines that are darker than
the rest of the screen. What could be the problem of this?

My guess is that it's a problem with the controller knowing how many lines
it's supposed to be scanning. Usually you have to tell the controller the
display size, the font size, etc. and if these are set incorrectly certain
lines are drawn twice before the counter controlling the drawing resets and
this manifests itself as ghosted characters, darker lines, etc.
