I am searching for some components (RF, IF filters and mixers, ...
etc.). I have the specifications that I desire, but I do not know
which company, if any, manufactures these components. What is the best
way I can search for these components (online or offline)? I have
found a website called www.globalspec.com. That was the best resource
I found, but it was not of much help. Any suggestions please?

Seems to me you have to find a maker that can supply similar parts,
and then submit a RFQ to them, with the specs. But shop around for
more than one maker. It might be a good idea to put the RFQ on a web
page and submit the URL to them, along with the official RFQ.

Don't be ripped off by the big book dealers. Go to the URL
that will give you a choice and save you money(up to half).

As a first level search, try www.electrobase.com You can't search by
parameter, but you can by basic part type.

I have used GlobalSpec
http://www.globalspec.com

for specification search and have found it worked great
Any reason why you were not successful?

I believe GlobalSpec is the only site that allows one to search for
components by specification all on one search form.
