Oupiin. Unfortunately they can only offer me an SMD type by another supplier
entirely - $1 ea, MOQ 58, 2-3weeks - which is pretty good. As I was chasing
through-hole (which I stated in my enquiry) this doesn't help, so the hunt goes
on.

connectors - nowadays I don't know - I try and stick with common or
garden parts as much as possible! (like the MT8870 DTMF controllers -

MOQ/MOV hell all over again.
It's the old problem - no-one wants to hold stock to break down the factory MOQ,
because they get stuck with a shelf full of non-moving lines. Arrow with Maxim
are a perfect (?) example.
Sounds like Farnell win again. Methinks the protos may be assembled here but
even trial prod will be offshore, where the chinese will source them in whatever
small quantities are required. (The last job here cost us $140 per stuffed
board, now we get them ex china for $24.)
