Hi All, I have a SCR out of a 24v-12 converter and need the value or
equivalent.
It has on it S6025L and is in a TO-220 package.
Can anyone tell me the specs or equivalent.
Thanks

**** Joe,I cant locate the data for an "L" version however the rest of the
S6025 family shows they are all stud/press fit/flat plate mount variants,
600V at 25 Amp with slightly differing max. gate currents.Sorry,no
equivalents visible.

It's a 600V, 25A device.

2N6509 (from WES) is probably the most readily available which should
do the job (800V, 25A). Just make sure the mounting tab on yours
isn't insulated.

Haven't checked Farnell but 25A in TO-220 are normally hard to come by
as a replacement part.

** The idiots at WES have that number listed as a transistor in their
catalogue.

How many other SCRs and triacs are hidden like that ??

None that I've been able to find -- been like that in the last four
catalogues at least. :)

** The goons as WES must think that all "2N" prefixes are transistors.

There is a large number of SCRs and triacs that have 2N prefixes - like
the famous 2N4441 flat pack SCR and the stud mount 2N5446 for examples.
