Chatrooms separate the men from the boys

"Internet chatroom users can be so aggressive that a sociologist studying
them has labelled some online communities "electronic fight clubs".

"According to the new research, even the most laid-back people can erupt
into furious rants when debating online, and it's all part of an effort
to distinguish themselves from the next user. Some even take on
multiple personalities in a bid to outsmart their online acquaintances,
while others adopt menacing usernames. <snip>

"Usenet being what it is, if you participate in newsgroups
at all over a period if time you have the possibility of
attracting your own personal lunatic, who considers any
disagreement a personal affront, and considers it their
duty and obligation to "expose" the person they fixate on.
It's kind of pathetic, but they can't quite seem to figure
out why no one else sees their actions as heroic."

Guy Macon, Electronics Engineer & Project Manager for hire.
Remember Doc Brown from the _Back to the Future_ movies? Do you
have an "impossible" engineering project that only someone like
Doc Brown can solve? My resume is at http://www.guymacon.com/

The first rule of Electronic Fight Club is: you do not talk about
Electronic Fight Club. The second rule of Electronic Fight Club is: you
DO NOT talk about Electronic Fight Club! Third rule of Electronic Fight
Club: someone yells "Stop!", goes limp, taps out, the fight is over.
Fourth rule, only two guys to a fight. Fifth rule, one fight at a time,
fellas. Sixth rule, no shirt, no shoes. Seventh rule, fights will go on
as long as they have to. And the eighth and final rule, if this is your
first night at Electronic Fight Club, you have to fight.
