Does anyone know how to access the service menu for a 27" Sanyo
(DS27820)? I need to adjust the geometry and that is not available from
the main menu.

Thanks,
Keith

If you need to adjust the geometry then the Tv has developed a fault.
What do you wish to adjust ?

Keith:
Consumer televisions are not like computer monitors with wide ranging
control of geometry and positioning. If something has changed, there is
defective circuitry that must be repaired. Trying to adjust out faults is
not a good plan and unlike what you see in the movies..... most faults can
not be fixed with software or a few strokes on a computer keyboard.....
real parts must be replaced with the aid of real tools and test equipment.
Please post the symptoms and see if you can obtain some useful repair
suggestions. There are lots of knowledgeable techs on this newsgroup who
are eager to help.

What geometry do you think you can adjust on a low end consumer tv set? In
any case if you think something needs adjusted, something has probably
failed and needs repaired.

The geometry adjustments on that set are as follows:
Vertical size, Vertical position, maybe vertical linearity. Virtually no
horizontal size adjustments at all, the vertical has to be adjusted to the
horizontal for proper aspect ratio.

This TV has had the problem from day 1 (picture needs to rotate a
couple of degrees clockwise). You only notice the problem when there is
a news crawl on the bottom of the picture.

Ok adjust the yoke.

Keith:
Rotation is NOT in the service menu.
Also, if you re-locate the television somewhere else in the room, chances
are that the rotation problem you are seeing may get better or worse due to
the influence of the earth's magnetic field.
You can very carefully (try not to get electrocuted) to slightly physically
rotate the yoke... be warned however that if things get disturbed too much
back there that the picture purity and convergence will become a bigger
problem for you.
