Sanyo cable connector & warmup

I've got a 7-year old 27 inch sanyo. It takes ten minutes of warming up
before the snow goes away, and sometimes it will go to snow all of a sudden.
Sometimes it'll run for hours without a hitch. However, the DVD player,
which plugs into the RCA plugs into the back, has no problems whatsoever.
Any clues on what it would take to fix?

troubleshoot the problem and replace the defective components and/or tuner
module, resolder any faulty or cracked connections on the main board and
tuner module, etc.
