S/PDIF<->RCA Jack

Hi,

I don't know if this is the right NG to ask the following. If not, I
apologize.

I recently bought an inexpensive computer and the mobo has the S/PDIF
(Sony/Philips Digital Interface) pins/headers (port) that looks like an
internal pins for connecting the CDROM audio. The pins are labels as
follows:

Pin# Signal Name
1 SPDIF Out
2 VCC
3 Key
4 GND

I would like to connect this S/PDIF to a coaxial port (that uses an RCA
connector) on the back of my Home Theater System (HTS). AFAIK, an RCA
connecter only uses two wires. So, can anyone please tell me which pins
should I use from the S/PDIF port to make an S/PDIF <-> RCA cable that can
be used to connect the S/PDIF to the audio coaxial (RCA) port on my HTS?

Thanks.

Use S/PDIF (center conductor of RCA) and GND (ground)(outer conductor
of RCA).

However, if your home theatre system expects something other than
S/PDIF data on that connector, you will not get any useful result (and
may damage the input circuit of the home theatre system).
