Does anyone know a near equivalent to a BUK555 100A.

I have been searching for yonks now - still 157gigahits to inspect - but
haven't got very close yet.

Thanks in anticipation
BUK555-100A MOS-N-FET 100V, 25A, 125W, 0.08Ohm

Hope this helps,

Martin.

Thanks for that but I know what it is - I just need a replacement as it is
obsolete.
(There are quite a number still in circulation with the obsolete stockists
but buying them will only delay the inevitable as this device is used in a
current product not down for design review for 18 months.)

One thing about the BUK555 is that it's a "logic-level"
FET. These have their Rds and Id-max specs made with
Vgs = 5V (compared to most FETs at Vgs = 10V). Here are
replacement candidates, plus your FET for comparison.

part number Vdss Idmax Pd Rds(on) Ciss
----------- ---- --- ---- --------- ------
BUK9575-100A 100V 23A 98W 0.075 ohm 1704pF
BUK555-100A 100V 25A 125W 0.085 ohm 1750pF
IRL540A 100V 28A 121W 0.058 ohm 1580pF
FQP33N10L 100V 33A 127W 0.055 ohm 1630pF
BUK9540-100A 100V 39A 158W 0.040 ohm 3072pF
STP40NF10L 100V 40A 150W 0.036 ohm 2300pF

The Idmax and Pd specs are for a 25C case temp, and Rds(on)
is max, with Vgs = 5V. Ciss is measured at Vds = 25V.

These FETs are in the sweet spot for the new 42V automotive
electronics requirements, so they should be inexpensive.
The Fairchild FQP33N10L is one of my stocked parts, they
cost me 81 cents each at Newark.

There are plenty of parts with larger dies, lower Rds(on)
and rated at higher currents, but these have higher Ciss
and are probably more expensive.

Thanks very much for that.
As you state these are 'logic level' devices with specification at a low
Vgs - a very important attribute in the design
