Hi group .

I just got myself a Vigor 2200 ADSL router .

Various people have mentioned that it has a hardware firewall . That
may be true but surely it is unwise not to have some kind of security
application running on the systems ?

The firewall can stop some things from getting IN, but tools like ZoneAlarm also
monitor what your PC is sending OUT. Since ZoneAlarm can be configured to
require that all Internet access requests from the PC must be approved at least
once, you will know if you acquire some "undesirable" program - like things that
want to send your addressbook to a site in Korea or Malyasia..
