A google search on "router hacking" gives all sorts of links on how to
increase transmitter power, etc., but how would one go about
converting a (Linksys, say) off-the-shelf router into a device that
can, say, calculate pi or solve a complex partial differential
equation?
The idea is to basically convert a cheap, low-power (in wattage),
fairly powerful off-the-shelf piece of electronics to something that
would normally take $100s or so in microcontroller development boards
to perform.
