I need to replace a whole bunch of pots that corroded and froze on
this unit. They are small import type with knurled shafts. They are
50K and 10K and appear to both be audio taper. The threaded part that
goes through the chassis hole measures 6.8mm, the knurled shaft end
measures 6.0mm, and the length from the back of the pot to the tip of
the shaft measures 24mm. It would probably be easiest to obtain OEM
parts so does anyone have any information on Ross, or if not do you
have any idea where I might look to try to find the same type
replacements? I would like to try to reuse the original knobs. Thanks,
Lenny Stein, Barlen Electronics.

If Ross still exists, you may be able to obtain replacements from them, but
the price (for such a quantity especially) will be high, I'm sure. You'd be
better off replacing components in this fairly low-end equipment with
generics...or better yet with higher-quality pieces. I believe you'll get a
much better quantity price from a regular component supplier.

Do you have any idea who might carry this kind of part? Thanks.

Sorry, I haven't checked the group lately...all the usual: Moser, Digikey,
Parts Express etc. Should be fairly common generics, I believe.
