Hi,

I'm looking for a source of replacement rod antennas. The kind that might
be found on a "boom box". The exact antenna has

9 sections
54" extended
7" to 8" collapsed
3mm threaded base
0.365" OD at base

Thanks!

Sounds very much like generic cordless phone antennas...
dunno where in the world you are, but with any luck you
should be able to find them in one of your local wholesales...

Here in Canada, about 75 cents each in boxes of 10

Take care.

Thanks for the response. These antennas are not for cell phones or
cordless phones. Those antennas are much shorter than 54".

I've tried about 20 or so surplus houses on the web with no luck. MCM,
Allelectronics, BG Micro, JDR, Jameco, Dick Smith ....

If you have any Canadian wholesalers you could recommend, please post
them.

Thanks

Just get 'any' antenna which has the same bottom diameter and attachment
style. Often you can attach parts of the new antenna to the base of the old
in a pinch. Try to find one which is at least 54" long--longer will be okay
in most applications, shorter 'might' be okay. You only said what the
antenna was 'not' for, not was it 'is' for; so diagnosis is a little more
difficult. If it is in fact for a boombox, length, # of sections etc is not
going to be critical.

Just get one that fits....
