Hi,

Does anyone know of an RFID consultant or expert in Oz?

I'm trying to duplicate an RFID transponder that had the block 7 password
filled, might be a case of using a simple reader and using some sort of
brute force on it, although since the exchange between two transponders is
around 2 to 3 seconds with 2.4 million possibilites it could take a month or
three to break!

It is legimate, its for a vehicle key with an embedded transponder, the
manufacturer does not recode unless the security code paper given with the
vehicle when purchased new is provided, which is a pity since I bought it
at an auction! The only other option to me (apart from never losing this
remaining key) is to replace the ECU and dash assembly (that has the
immobiliser built into it!) sigh... No amount of proof of ownership is
useful either since the code require to program another key is that slip of
paper given when purchasing... bad practise!!!!

Anyone know of someone that could help?

The transponder is a TK5530 type.

Kind Regards
Jason

Can you warn us of the vehicle type to avoid, please. I'd never be able to
hold on to that slip of paper.

Cheers,
Alf

The tag is a temic tag now manufactured by atmel. Read the datasheet
on their website. The device is a rolling code unit. Its going to be
cheaper and easier to replace all the gizzards unless you dont mid
spending the next 100 years trying to figure it out. The only way you
can fool it is if you can extract the seed from the car computer or
program a new one in.
