Scientist in Texas have made low-resistance fibre out of carbon nanotubes, up to 100m long. Aimed at replacing copper wire, the conductors have come from long-term work at Rice University, and required the discovery of better ways to dissolve nanotubes and improved understanding of their behaviour in solution.
