Hi All

I have a Sony 59cm flatscreen thats 2yo ... it died 2 weeks ago, would
try and turn on (made clicking) but didnt go.

It has been at local repair place for 2 weeks... they called this arvo
and said the EHT unit needs replacing and will cost $185 Australian.
(US$110)

I have no idea about TV's ... is this an expensive part or am I being
ripped off??

thanks for any comments.

PS. Not happy that a TV costing me over $1000 2 years ago has died ...
might be time to switch brands.

They are not over charging for this part. Infact, in many places it is even
more expensive. Your dealer has to take the time to purchase it, pay the
transport to him, and then give you some type of warranty on it. He is only
going to make is profit on the labour charge. He also has to make a living.

I am sure you wouldn't work for free...
