Would anybody have any idea what a small 240volt unit
with 'Rendering End Point Indicator' printed on the
case is used for.It has a 75 ohm coax cable coming out
of the case, 100mm square PCB,Buzzer,Pot (with markings
0 to 100).A couple of the chips are LM741CN and LM74123

Google search turned up zap all
I know this description is fairly basic but somebody
who has heard/seen this unit would have no problems

Thanks from a

hard to say..
sounds custom made..
may it was part of a wire locator in a raceway.
the 741 is a Op-amp, the 74123 is monostable multivibrator which
is good for generating square wave pulses and can be switched.

Could it be some kind of home made alarm to let you know when a rendering
process had finished?

The rendering process could be rendering meat - as in making glue from
horses.

Thanks for the ideas

Did not notice before but there is
a model number 2029-0344,so
it must be a mass produced 'Thingo'.
Picked it up in a farming area (wheat
sheep)
