Remote will not program.

JVC multibrand remote control doesn't want to be programmed to work with a TV. With
the user manual beside me I program it - it refuses to work. I have an identical
remote, this one programs fine. What should I be doing?

Have you checked the batteries?? Replace them with a known good set and
try again. Still doesn't work? Probably a bad remote.

Yes. Should I use "D" batteries. How about three "D's" or 4.5vdc?
