Relays

Dear All,
I am currently completing some electronics to go into a
project and would like to know whether it is possible to control a motor
(reverse/ forward only) with a Single Pole Double Toggle/Throw (SPDT) relay.

Only by splitting the power supply.

You could make a DPDT with 2 SPDT relays.

Do you want 'stop' as well as 'forward' and 'reverse'? If so, you must use
2 * SPDT.

If you have a positive and a negative voltage source and a DC motor,
yes. One side of motor to common, other side to relay common
contact. One relay contact to positive supply and one to negative
supply.

There are also AC capacitor run motors that can be reversed by
connecting the capacitor to one winding and the line directly to the
other that can be configured to reverse with a SPDT contact. You
connect each end of the cap to each winding, and connect the common
contact to the line. Then connect each of the other contacts to one
side of the capacitor. The motor common winding terminal goes to the
other line.
